Bird

I can assure you I passed it

Even while wearing my old coats in a dangling, uneventful way
Even in a way which was not supposed to be represented
I did it while stumbling over rocks and fountains.

I did lose my love in the process but so what
People don't deserve to ruin my life,
They don't deserve to knock in,
walk over all of my carpet
and say that it was already dusty

It may or may not be dirty but it was beautiful before you stepped in,
Before you crashed at my place and called me boring
Before you turned away,
walked out,
never returned
and expected me to be still waiting.

I am not a painting stuck in time which you made of me when you met me
I've evolved out of those figurines, punched out the poetry and become a man
I am no longer who you thought I was.

Its painful to realize what I have been through
My home is no longer a place to breathe in
and I am constantly changing my lanes
But what if it was meant to be.

What if I am meant to wander and look around the world
See the beauty in the clink of the glass,
flutter of the moth
and bright stars in the sky
What if I was meant to live in this period
and breathe in this epic lavender haze
I hope to be in peace and even if I am not,
I am glad I've become a better version of me.
