Part 2

I finished my final answer and there was still few minutes for the break to end. So i took my current-reading novel and went out to the vending machine to get a chocolate shake in hand.

When i reached there, i spent pretty 5 minutes on deciding which shake should i get as i couldn't feel the current taste in my mouth.
"Guess a nerd is spending more time on deciding which drink to take than answer an exponential question." He came out from behind me and casually leaned on the machine coming right in front of my view.
"I seem to be more interested than deciding my shake than your stupid intentions which are reflecting right now about annoying me." I thinned my eyes to him.
And he laughed. "You got it wrong, gosh, you finally got one thing wrong in the world."
"I don't care if it's about you. Now move." I place a hand on his left shoulder and try to shove him off my sight. "I think....you should care." He moved a bit to the right and i quickly decided what was in front after putting the penny, when he clicked the lemon juice button on the machine before me. That is....boiling me now.

"How dare you! That was supposed to be my drink!"
He was laughing hard on my face. I fist bumped him on the stomach and he took it laughing hard.
"Gosh, you're so annoying." I put on a disgusted face and left the corner. I heard him take his lemon can and continued to approach me.
"Though i have never seen a girl getting annoyed before though, it smells nice to me." He kept getting on my paces by jumping over few steps to keep up with my walk as i wanted to run far from me.
"Today my day is not supposed to be bad. I don't want it to be, so please, leave me alone now." I threw my hands in the air to show my disappointment.
"I don't mean to annoy you too though," he sipped a bit from his drink, "but there is something i want to ask you and that is the reason why i wanted to talk." I stopped abruptly, and he flew a few paces forward but balanced shortly.
"Be quick." I folded my hands in front.
"Where is my book, the one i was reading while you came in the storeroom." He was glaring all the way and continued sipping after completing.
"How the hell would i know? Was it me reading it?"
"No, but i know you are the one. I suppose you might have read it in soft copy and now desperately want a hard one of it. I saw the face of yours when you spent your penny on me so i might as well take it as you are stingy. So give it back to me, i won't trouble you now." His voice darkened has a gradually met the end of his purpose, and i realized how on earth i saw a soft side of him in my mind just now.
"To correct your stupid pseudo scenario, i already have a copy of it and have read it twice, okay. I am not a book thief, like you who could be." I eyed him once again.

He stopped reacting for a minute and stared at me. Then he slowly put his drink down on the edge of the railing, a place we reached somehow, and paced his steps forward, towards me. He quickly backed me to the wall and placed a hand on the wall behind, recreating the exact thing i warned him about.
"I don't care about any of your stupid proof points. And i may seem crazy about approaching you this way just for a book but i don't care if you'll get it or not but the book means more than a 'book' for me. It has something hidden in it and i swear i will push you harder if i lost it since you were the only one who last saw it. And you may think if i am this much concerned then why did i made the mistake of leaving it there then ask your stupid hidden observant self to now watch the boys who were after you that day."
The realization of it hit me hard as how far i went unbothered about the fact that i was getting badly chased yesterday alone and walked into school without a defense. I completely forgot about it.
My eyes darted towards the sky behind him in thinking, as i realized he knew i zoned out so came in front to shadow my eyes.
His eyes seemed different as he deepened his gaze in my eyes, and only, my eyes.
I couldn't hold up for long.
"Thanks for the help though." I broke the eye contact at the moment. "But i honestly don't know where is your-"
I was interrupted midway by a shrill voice.

It was of another girl student of a different section. She belongs to the girl group where everyone is obsessed with him, the model. But she looked furious as she spoke, maybe drinking on the jealousy of the scene.
"You left this book in the storeroom last day." She put the book forward in her hands and he looked sideways to her and then the book.
He removed the hand from the wall and took the book at once from his one hand. "I found it later when i went there, it was lying there on the dusty couch. I opened it and.."
He started searching the book hastily, and when he found the hidden thing, he sighed a relief, and shot her a look.
"I hope you are not mad and don't mind me to ask but-"
"If you'll excuse i do care!" He said in a loud voice back to her. She shut up and once, glared him for a long moment before speaking. Her eyes moved once to me and then to him and spoke out the awkward jealousy, "Well, you should still have the manners anyways even if you like someone else." Her eyes rolled towards me on the 'like' and she left quickly in her ego without a word.

I held up my laugh a bit in my mouth before it burst out without help. I clutched my stomach and continued laughing.
"She said 'like'", and my voice broke in a burst of chuckles.
"Shut up" he said softly and left.

I quiet up a bit seeing him leaving and shouted out when he was a distance away- "By the way, who's number is that?"
I crossed my arms, thinned my eyes, as he suddenly back in utter shock.

"How did you know?" His mouth opened in shock.
"How did you expect i would trip on any secret of yours? Though you guessed but....didn't fully." I tilted my head in confidence of my wit.
"I so knew you....forget it anyways." He throws a hand in the air and continues walking.
I let it go, i don't think i want to care about it anymore. I have got things to do.

I follow after his trail and when while walking, it struck me that i could use this as a tease against him too. I'm so on it now.
"By the way-" I hop to the front of him to catch up his pace, while he walks clutching his book like it's some heaven, "I believe if you tell me, we can be the secret friends, so that you know some of my secrets and i know some of yours?"
"And why are you suddenly so interested in my secrets?" He stops walking and glared a side eye at me.
"Um-" I suddenly couldn't think of why did i say that, "nothing, anyways." I drop the idea, i am bad at it.

We decided to walk the rest of the way together.
'It's my mother's number.' He said in a low voice after a few minutes.
I quickly turned my head towards him. 'Your mother? Don't you live together?'
'Um-no. She moved to a new city when i started my teenage.'
'Why so?'
'I can't tell you that. But- I thought it was no harm telling you about this. Anyway, it is just a phone number.' He smiled after saying, and a small bit of it came on mine too.
'Oh, that feels comforting. But don't you have the number saved on your phone? And if it was just a number you wouldn't have been throwing hands on me for that before.'
He looked at me now.
'I know...I didn't save it in my phone because i think i am still upset with her. But it is of no use anyway, she doesn't care about me and i don't too so the grief in between has no wings to leave. And we let it be empty, the conversation between us. I don't think i will ever even talk to her by the way. She was annoying since my childhood and i would never want to be with someone like that now for the rest of my life. I am going to live alone.' He seemed confident of his decision, and it felt like a dark cloud took hold of his eyes as he finished.
'I think so too.' And grew a distance between us.

We reached our class and separated like nothing happened. Few of the girls from the group noticed our togetherness but it was meaningless to them anyways since i am a popular nerd and they think he will never be able to like a nerd.
