Sunoo: Part2
"I am Sunoo. Nice to meet you." I smiled at her. Her face seemed to loosen a bit at my name.
"Nice rings by the way. Where did you get those from?" I asked since the rings looked too ancient to be worn according to the normal trending fashions nowadays.
She gave a glance down at her hands and fiddled with her one index ring as she spoke from a husky voice which somehow felt like music to my ears.
"These are...my presents." Then she smiled at me an appealing smile, as I watched her pink lips grow so wide, I believed she could turn any moment into a monster. But i was wrong. She was sweet.
"OH. Anyways, I don't remember seeing you before. Are you new here?"
"No." She chuckled thereafter. "I have been in this school since primary. I guess we are meeting now only."
"Could be." And i smiled.
Out of blue, we started walking together till the edge of the school back doorway. From here I couldn't hear any bustling of the children or anyone. The rustling of the leaves felt like the only singing beings.
My face turned into a concerned one and I started wringing my hands.
"Guess everybody left, is it time already?" I looked down at my watch and saw that it had stopped. "Damn, it's out of battery. Do you know the time?" I looked at her and she moved her head in a no.
We walked about the school for long and it dwell on me that maybe it was time.
"Maybe it's time. I don't see anyone here. I'll be leaving now then, what about you?" I looked side to her but realized she was not there.
I looked round and about but she was nowhere. My heart stopped for a minute when I realized since when had I lost trace of her walking with me. I reasoned myself with it that she might have left too.
I ran to my class to pick up my bag and again ran down the school gate. But when I reached there huffing I saw no one. No guards, no men, no keepers, no one.
"There's no one here, right?" I looked back to the sound and saw Anna sitting right beside a rose plant.
"I don't understand." I looked frustrated.
"I know. Me too." She gave me a smiling look and I got confused.
Not once I remember something like this happening to me.
"You should sit while the keepers come to check the gate at a final round. They will come, I am sure. But by that time, let's sit here and talk."
Unaware of the final round of keepers thing, I proceeded towards her.
I was not sure if I should show her the diary but after a much silence between our talking, I took it out.
"I found this diary in the store room. Do you know something about it?"
I gave it to her and she looked about it.
"It has a lock."
"Yeah, and I don't think i know the password."
She looked at me suddenly then.
"I think you might be knowing it." She smiled.
I furrowed my brows at the say. I took the diary from her and gave a closer look to the cover. It was completely black. Not a single spot on it. And it occurred to me this time only that the diary wasn't rusty at all too.
"It's not rusty, despite being in the storeroom. The lock has a four word on it. So maybe 'dirt' is the answer. I'll be doomed if it is."
I casually rolled the four letter rings on the diary and the moment I finished it opened.
My heart skipped a bit at that.
"Ooh!" My lips pouted and i looked at her and then her already enticed gazed on the diary. I wonder how many things this diary is holding for my fate. It seems like a strange feeling.
I slowly unhooked the lock and opened the diary. It's pages were damped somehow, which was awfully strange to me, and i swayed my fingers over it's bit old and crumpled pages. The writing on it seemed to be written by some inkpot things as the calligraphy and its traces seemed like the one only those inkpot brushes could manage to make.
The diary's pages were filled with these black writings and i winced at it's completely filled state, from one edge to the other. It was complete, till the end.
"You want to read?" I asked her and she looked up at me with those black pearl eyes.
"I think it would be better if you read it, for us." She smiled. I don't know why i am liking it a bit, being in her presence for long. It is anyway strangely brining peace to my bones.
I look at the front page of the diary from where the writing has started, without any introduction beforehand. I start reading it out while she starts looking at the sky.
