the doll needs help

My breath burns my throat sliding down through it as i clamp down on my knees. "Lacy where are you?" I shout out into the thickness of the trunks but the only answer i hear is of my own voice reverting back the question to me. I start panicking as i start blaming myself for everything, from letting Lacy play on the front porch facing the entry of forest to leaving her alone to get the breakfast done. I didn't realize until the sour tears start coming out my dry eyes and i fall to the ground, failing to find any trace of her.

I return to house late evening planning on reporting to police right away, when my feet was about to stumble on a fluffy thing. I crouch down and picked up the doll i left with Lacy. I was almost on the outskirts and i look back to the drowning darkness inside the forest. With some hope in my heart i clear it in my mind, I have to find Lacy as soon as possible.

After coming back home from reporting and receiving an affirmation that they will start the investigation tomorrow morning, i straight away head to bead with an empty stomach. I take the doll with me and held it close till the sunshine. I walk wearily down to kitchen, making myself green tea when i remember once i woke in the middle of last night, hearing voices from the doll but probably my mind hallucinated.

I sip on my tea in silence thinking about Lacy when i hear a thud from my bedroom. When i entered i saw my sketch book tattered into pieces, and beside it on the floor, the doll. I moved closer to find murky scribblings on the pieces. It was probably some way i recognized, it had to be of Lacy. I bet the doll wanted to communicate, i have seen it in movies. I interpreted the scribbled lines to be a protray of a spot in the woods by the surrounding tall dark lines around the curve of the page. In all probability i could take it to be the location of wooden park on the other side of the woods.

I hastily picked up the picture and ran out into the greenwood, and somehow took the doll too. I ran and reached the place and found Lacy hiding inside the hollow of a dome. When she saw me, she came out scampering and we hugged. I cried a lot at her final touch and she told me she lost her doll by some means and found the forest could have gobbled it up. I apologized to her for leaving her alone and we quickly walked back home and i made her a grand meal looking at her skinny body.

When we went to bed at night i remembered i accidentally left the doll in the park in joy of having Lacy back. I then promised to Lacy that we will get the doll back tomorrow morning. She gaily agreed and we drifted to the dreamworld, when i could hear some whispers from the window in the silent night.

The moment the sun came up, i made pancakes and we set off to get the doll, but when we reached the spot, i found someone crouched down inside the same dome, probably the silhouette of a girl.
